Summary

Old water heaters can cause issues with efficiency and safety, especially if venting or shutoff valves are outdated. This project involved removing an older unit in a basement and installing a new 40-gallon power vent system for Amber A. in Owosso. The upgrade was needed to improve hot water reliability and meet current mechanical codes.

The Work

Installed AO Smith Proline 40-gallon power vent water heater
Set new drain pan and shutoff valves
Ran new exhaust venting and sealed off unused chimney vent
Checked for gas and water leaks, started up and tested the system
Removed all old equipment from the home

The Outcome

The home now has a safer, energy-efficient water heater set up for long-term use. Proper venting and shutoffs give peace of mind, and the system meets current standards. Amber’s hot water is ready when needed.
